What EcoLur Stands For

My name is Donovan Douds and I am an 18 year old college student that is studying Biology and Business at James Madison University. I always had a love for fishing and conservation, so I wanted to find a way to combine the two aspects into a business. My goals with this business is to educate people with the importance of conservation, especially in the fishing space. Over the years I have lost countless lures from snags, trees, or just outright forgetting them. Little did I know the environmental impact lost fishing lures leave. Plastic lures take years to biodegrade and while they do so they also release harmful microplastics into the water or environment they were left in. While you may think this is a small impact that you don't have to worry about, Microplastics and other pollutants could completely destroy our water ecosystems as well as land. Things like microplastics can cause fish and other species that inhabit rivers, streams, lakes, and oceans populations to decline. If all the fish die then we fisherman wont be able to fish. This is why I came up with the solution of "EcoLur." With EcoLur the body of the lure is 100% biodegradable and releases zero microplastics when biodegrading. This creates a much more ecofriendly alternative for fishing reducing the environmental impact caused by other brands of plastic lures. I am fully dedicated to making this business for the environment so for every lure purchased I will personally remove five pieces of trash from a stream, river, or lake near me to help fight the battle of pollution. Every trash cleanup I do will be filmed on my YouTube channel EcoLurOfficial. If those two conservation efforts weren't enough at the end of each month 1% of all sales will go to a different conservation charity. I want every customer to know that every purchase they make truly does make a difference for our planet. Choose EcoLur and cast with purpose!
